Before going solo, Marcus played bass & sang in several bands, which included.....
Crystal : A band who was contracted to play the Swan Hotel circuit in Darwin and Marcus appeared on the front page of the 'Northern Territory News' for being mobbed by screaming fans on stage at the local 'Hoadley's Battle of the Bands'
Lifetime : A cabaret and session band, whose highlight was touring with Gianni Morandi ( Italian Popstar ) and Tina Arena ( Young Talent Time ) with shows at the Adelaide State Theatre, Dallas Brookes Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
Sinclair Brothers Band : A band with which Marcus recorded an album 'Two Moons' and three singles for Festival Records. Tours included support shows for Don McLean and Janis Ian. Television appearances were made on 'Countdown' and 'Sounds Unlimited'
Shaun and the Fiddler : A very succesful M.O.R. hotel band who also worked regularly for F.E.I.P. and the Vic. Ski Club at Mt. Buller. The band clocked up a massive 18 appearances on Channel Seven's 'Shirl's Neighbourhood', as well as several channel 7 Good Friday Telethons.
' Marcus ' : Has done seasons from Tasmania to the Northern Territory, played at top venues, including the Hyatt, the Hilton, the Southern Cross, Burnham Beeches, and a performance at a dinner dance for the then Prime Minister Bob Hawke
